We have acquired some exceptional paintings in 2009, notably a portrait by Charles Haslewood Shannon commissioned in 1910 by Robert Falcon Scott of his wife, the sculptress Kathleen Bruce. Scott never saw the painting as he never returned from his expedition. This work will be going on public display in February along with a number of other important oils and watercolours.
